LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Two adults were arrested in connection with a January shooting that left a 14-year-old Henderson boy dead. The boy’s 12-year-old brother is facing a murder charge.
According to the Henderson Police Department, Jerel Reyes, 51, and Bryanna Reyes, 50, the parents of both boys, were taken into custody on Wednesday, Feb. 7, and booked into the Henderson Detention Center, each for one count of child abuse/neglect.
The shooting was reported around 7:15 p.m. in the 1000 block of Capital Gains Drive on Jan. 25, 2024. Henderson police said a preliminary investigation showed the 12-year-old brother shot the teen. The younger brother was taken into custody. The teen, identified as Aizeya Reyes, was transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The Clark County coroner’s officer said the teen died of a gunshot wound to the chest/abdomen.
While police did not specify the relationship between the adults and boys, the 8 News Now Investigators confirmed the Reyes adults are the boys’ parents.
The Reyes have posted bail and are due back in court on March 11.
